SAP implementation in the steel industry

The background

TATA Consulting Services needed help with an SAP implementation project at a Swedish steel manufacturer. However, they faced the challenge of not being able to have their own resources on site, and so they turned to Implema Business Solution to be their local implementation partner.

The assignment

Implema Business Solution was given the prestigious assignment to not only fulfill the role of project manager, but also provide the solution architects in Sales & Distribution, Materials Management and Finance. The project was of significant scope, with over 50 consultants involved in India, a tight schedule and extensive involvement of the client's business processes. These conditions placed high demands on both the project manager and the solution architects.

Solution

Implema ensured the successful delivery of the company's new ERP system. As project manager and with our team of solution architects, we made it possible to create a solution that met all requirements and expectations.

Part of our mission was to create a flexible and reusable ERP model. This meant that the set templates could not only be applied in this project, but also reused for the company's future ERP implementations in Europe. We managed to deliver this outstanding service with a combination of local expertise and effective project management.
