Procurement of global purchasing system
Background
When a global telecom company is to modernize its global purchasing landscape, it is Implema Business Solutions that drives the procurement. Four old on-premise systems are to be replaced by a modern cloud system with the aim of enhancing the user experience and streamlining purchasing to invoice with best practices in the intended standard system.
Assignment
During the feasibility study, Implema Business Solutions drove the goal and vision for the transformation, collected requirements from all geographical corners of the business and facilitated quantitative analysis of market-leading software vendors.
Solution
Gartner's Magic Quadrant and a large number of reference dialogues were analyzed early in the feasibility study to concretize a current and relevant market situation based on the requirements. Furthermore, detailed product demonstrations were concluded based on developed "use cases" with a handful of suppliers, of which the two strongest candidates passed to proof of concept and final negotiation. Finally, the price is negotiated and a product choice with the right functionality anchored in the customer's long-term system strategy and vision for how ERP and purchasing systems integrate.
