Successful implementation in Asia

The background

Implema Business Solution was a key player in streamlining a global telecom client's sourcing processes and managing contingent labor, in partnership with SAP Fieldglass.

With operations in over 170 countries, the client had extensive needs for external consultants but lacked unified and agile processes to manage them. After a thorough analysis, they chose to implement SAP Fieldglass as their Vendor Management System (VMS) to create better structure and control.

The solution makes it possible to recruit, manage, pay and evaluate external resources and suppliers. Today, the platform is used for up to 20,000 consultants and covers 90% of the total cost.

Mission

The client had a need to gain control and visibility over external resources in Asia where specific skills were required to achieve the goal. They wanted to implement a common tool that supports the globally agreed procurement processes to achieve the following four main objectives:

Solution

In a sub-project led by a senior project manager with deep expertise in SAP Fieldglass, a common system with a global process was implemented in a total of 10 countries for 4000 consultants with a turnover of 800 Msek in Asia. This replaced local processes and systems.

The following objectives were achieved:

  • Full visibility and overview of consultants in real time across the region
  • Full visibility of purchase orders ( PO) for multiple parties with an automated and integrated Purchase to pay process
  • Cost control against set framework agreements and prices when purchasing and extending
  • Increased efficiency - one system instead of several for the management of consultants(automation of PO, invoice, timesheet, onboarding, offboarding)
  • Full control of signed NDAs, correct procurement and management of external resources according to applicable laws globally and locally
