# Global implementation of SAP Ariba

##### **Background**

**When a global telecommunications company is set to modernize its global procurement landscape, it is Implema Business Solutions that drives the procurement process. **

Four old on-premise systems are to be replaced by a modern cloud-based system with the aim of enhancing user experience and streamlining the procure-to-pay process with best practices in the intended standard system.

##### **Assignment**

For direct materials, the purpose is to automate transactions with high volumes and support collaboration between buyers and suppliers, thereby freeing up time for procurement and logistics. SAP Ariba simplifies supplier onboarding, significantly accelerating the lead time to the first purchase in the new solution without compromising contract compliance.

For indirect materials, the driving force is to modernize the user experience with "guided buying," where end users easily find the right product based on their needs, using the same search function and catalog structure as in a regular webshop.
